Security Zones
Under the International Ship and Port Security Code there are three levels of security:
- Level 1 (Normal)
- Level 2 (Implies risk of a non-specific security threat)
- Level 3 (Implies that a security threat is probable or imminent)
The levels of response are dictated to us by the Maritime New Zealand and the current level at which the port is operating is advised by signs at the Port Security Centre.
In compliance with the code, the port is divided into two Restricted Zones:
- Zone 1 is the International Port
- Zone 2 is the Domestic Port, which includes Kings and Glasgow wharves
